Event sound · Fargo, ND

Event sound in Fargo.
We bring it, and we run it.

Awards banquets, meetings, graduations, and car shows. We show up with a system sized to your room, run it for the whole event, and pack it out. You get a person, not a box on the floor.

What you get, and what it costs

Three microphones, an eight channel mixer, and backup gear including spare wireless batteries.

Your base rate

  • Weekday, Monday to Thursday $400
  • Friday, Sunday, Saturday daytime $550
  • Travel in Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, and Dilworth Included

Add only what you need

  • Each hour past four +$125
  • Announcing on the microphone +$200
  • Power, if your site has none +$250

Both rates buy four hours of event time. Setup and teardown are free on top of that, never counted inside it.

Saturday evenings are usually reserved for weddings. Ask and we will tell you honestly what is open.

Anywhere farther is quoted plainly up front, never added to your invoice afterward.

Not for: Full bands with drums or separate monitor mixes.

The difference

A person, not a box.

There are two ways to get sound for an event around here, and neither one fits most events. You can rent gear and figure it out yourself on the day, or you can hire a concert rig with a light show and a drum sub for an awards dinner that needs two microphones.

We are the middle option. We bring what your event actually needs, we set it up before your guests arrive, and we stay to run it. When a presenter walks away from the podium, when a laptop will not play through the room, when someone in the back cannot hear a question, there is someone there to fix it.

The gear

Sized to your room, not to impress you.

We run JBL SRX cabinets, the same tour series you would find on a real stage, plus JBL EON ONE column speakers for smaller rooms where a pair of speakers on stands would be overkill. What comes out of the van depends on your room and your crowd, not on what looks impressive.

We carry two wireless microphones, one wired microphone, and an eight channel mixer. Backup gear comes to every event, including spare batteries, because a dead wireless microphone partway through a program is the failure we see most often and the easiest one to prevent.

Where we stop

What we do not do.

We are not a concert production company and we do not pretend to be. Three microphones and eight channels cover speakers, background music, and a small acoustic act or duo. If you are booking a full band with drums and separate monitor mixes, you want a production company, and we will point you toward one rather than take the job and hope.

Doing a company event? See corporate event sound. A company party with a real dance floor is a DJ booking rather than a sound booking.

What you are really booking

Somebody in the room who can fix it.

Equipment is the easy part of this job. The hard part is the ten seconds after something goes wrong in front of your guests, and whether anyone in the room knows what to do about it.

FAQ

Event sound questions

How much does event sound cost in Fargo?

Weekday events start at $400 and Friday and Sunday start at $550. That buys up to 4 hours of event time. Setup and teardown are free on top of that, not counted inside it. Additional event hours are $125 each. Saturday evenings are usually booked for weddings, so ask and we will tell you honestly what is open. Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, and Dilworth are included with no travel charge.

Does setup and teardown count against my 4 hours?

No. Your 4 hours is event time only, measured from when we start running sound to when we stop. We are usually on site 60 to 90 minutes before your start time to set up and test everything, and we stay afterward to pack out. None of that is billed to you, and none of it eats into your hours.

Do you just drop off the equipment?

No. We bring the system, set it up, run it for the whole event, and tear it down at the end. If what you actually want is gear dropped off for you to run yourself, a rental shop is a better fit and we will tell you so.

What kinds of events do you do sound for?

Awards banquets, corporate meetings and conferences, graduations, and car shows. Anything built around people speaking, with music around it. We also cover a solo acoustic act or a duo.

Can you announce or MC as well as run the sound?

Yes, for a flat $200 on top of the sound. Tyler has been on a microphone since 2009, so welcomes, awards, and keeping a program on schedule are familiar work.

Do you do sound for bands or concerts?

Not full bands. We carry two wireless microphones, one wired microphone, and an eight channel mixer. That covers speakers, background music, and a small acoustic act or duo. A full band with drums and separate monitor mixes needs a production company, and we are happy to point you to one.
